About the Blog

The name My Calamity Physics comes from one of my favourite novels of all time –  Special Topics in Calamity Physics (go buy a copy IMMEDIATELY!).
Ah I see, you say, but what exactly is this Calamity Physics of which you speak?
Well the theory is that Calamity Physics was just the author’s really pretty way of saying Chaos Theory. For anyone not too familiar with the term, it’s basically “the underlying notion of small occurrences significantly affecting the outcomes of seemingly unrelated events”.
And considering the chaotic nature of my general life and how teeny tiny things have a tendency to send bigger portions into tailspins, I figured it was the perfect title for a blog about me.

This blog will document my life – the good, the bad and the ugly – and I solemnly swear to be as honest as possible.
It will be the place that reminds me to be fun and embrace my youth, in an attempt to stamp out the 24-going-on-40-year-old I was becoming.
I even abandoned my usually sensibilities and created a rather ridiculous background of me making an eejit out of myself  to remind me not to take myself too seriously (just in case you thought I was horribly egotistical!).
It’s the start of a new era for Miss C and you guys have front row seats.

  1. I’m sure everyone is probably gushing about how great the new blog is so obviously I had to be a sheep and follow suit! The new background is gorgeous! I love black and white shots and when I saw them they reminded me of portraits of Audrey Hepburn, whom I love. It’s a shame you were forced to change blogs due to real world people, to be honest I think that’s why I never started one because I think I’d be far too honest about people for my own good! You shouldn’t be nervous though, people came to ACNH for you, not for the layout or background. Hopefully you’ll find the new start more refreshing than utterly terrifying. I wish you all the best of luck as you always come across as such a genuine person and I can’t wait to see what the new blog brings. I really do admire you for keeping it together despite all the massive changes in your life recently (and that’s just the stuff you’ve written about). There are so many people rooting for you and as for the others, well haters gonna hate. This is all getting rather mushy and embarrassing but basically what I’m trying to say is: your readers are still here! 🙂
